Dr. Gao joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver as an Assistant Professor in August 2022. She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Renewable Energy from North China Electric Power University in 2013 and 2016. She received her Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University in 2019. Dr. Gao joined the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory at the University of Minnesota as a Postdoctoral Associate in 2019 and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Sacramento as an Assistant Professor in 2021. She was the recipient of the China National Scholarship and China Wind Power Scholarship at North China Electric Power University; the Brown Graduate Fellowship, President’s Fellowship, and Research Excellence Award at Iowa State University; and the Renewable Energy Commercialization Fellowship from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
